Last month, INSAR participated in the Insurance Protection Gap Conference held in Bratislava, Slovakia. The event was hosted by Petra Hielkema, Chair of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA), alongside distinguished guests from international and national organisations, associations, and ministries of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The conference brought together experts to explore climate change and its impact on the insurance protection gap from global, regional, and national perspectives. It also showcased how AI and advanced technologies can strengthen resilience against climate-related risks.
During the event, Matúš Bakoň from INSAR presented research on satellite technology, including analysis of earthquakes in Turkey, conducted as part of search and rescue research within the Cynergy4MIE project. He also highlighted the importance of European collaboration under Horizon Europe, emphasizing how partnerships between industry, research, and academia can drive impactful solutions for society.
