Last week, our partner Matúš Bakoň from insar.sk participated in the TRA 2026 Conference, contributing to an inspiring discussion on the future of urban mobility.
Matus joined the EIT Urban Mobility session “𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀”, expertly moderated by Eliška Bajgarová.
The discussion highlighted the growing importance of geospatial data and interoperable mobility data systems in shaping smarter, more resilient cities. During the session, Matus presented how satellite-based ground motion intelligence can support safer, more data-driven transport infrastructure. As part of the Cynergy4MIE project, he demonstrated how satellite monitoring enables cities and infrastructure operators to:
- detect early signs of ground instability
- prioritise inspections effectively
- protect transport networks before visible damage occurs
This topic is also part of one of the joint simulations in the Cynergy4MIE demonstrators, developed together with Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH, further showcasing how multiple agents operating together focus on one ultimate common goal – safer roads.
A big thank you to EIT Urban Mobility for the opportunity, and to Marian Nic, Martina H., and Eliška Bajgarová for your support and collaboration.
